Our primary objective is to breed happy, healthy, and well rounded companions. All dogs in our breeding program have been certified clear by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hip and elbow issues. Screenings for Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis and other heart abnormalities are performed by a Board Certified Cardiologist along with yearly eye exams by a Board Certified Opthalmologist.  You should know that pigmentary uveitis, an eye disease, is an emerging concern in Goldens. For more information regarding this disease, please refer to the Golden Retriever Club of America website. www.grca.org/health/health-concerns.html.

In addition to health clearances, we also strive to preserve the perfect Golden temperament, which is considered the “hallmark” of the breed. The Golden is known for its sweet disposition and friendly face. All of our puppies are raised in our home, surrounded by a family environment. Our goal is to produce dogs with correct structure, movement, and working ability and to always strive to improve the breed that has brought so much love and joy to our lives.

Thank you for your interest in Trailsend Golden Retrievers.

Trailsend is a small hobby kennel now located on several acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. We are approximately 30 miles west of Austin.  Golden Retrievers have been a part of our family for over 30 years. They are our pets and family members first, and show dogs second. Currently we exhibit primarily in conformation although we have occasionally tried our hand at other AKC venues. As members of the Greater Houston Golden Retriever Club, Austin Golden Retriever Club and the Golden Retriever Club of America we proudly follow and support the GRCA breed standard and code of ethics.
